McAtamney’s Butcher has once again won the coveted title of Northern Ireland Butchers Shop of the Year at the Northern Ireland Neighbourhood Retailers annual gala ceremony on 20th October. This time it was the Limavady shop which stepped into the limelight and brought home the award, amidst strong competition from other finalists including McAtamney’s Coleraine (last years winner), McAtamney’s Ballymena and several other top butchers who made the final cut.
The Neighbourhood Retailer Awards celebrate and showcase the very best of Northern Ireland’s grocery retail industry by providing recognition for innovation and outstanding contribution and is now celebrating its 19th year.
This award adds to McAtamney’s growing collection of honours and John Apperley from McAtamney’s commented,
“We were delighted to have three of our shops shortlisted in the hotly contested Butchers Shop of the Year category and were thrilled that our Limavady shop clinched the top spot. Full credit goes to the manager of the shop, Shane and his dedicated team, who are fully committed to providing excellence in retailing.”
The highest quality produce and excellence in customer service provision is at the core of McAtamney’s ethos and continues to be the recipe for its success as it follows a very busy year with the opening of three new shops since January including another shop in Limavady (Main Street), Galgorm and more recently Forestside Belfast. This takes the number of McAtamney’s shops to twelve in total.
